07/19/2017
Illnesses and injuries don’t work on a schedule. That’s why SLUCare has a new option for care exclusively for Saint Louis University’s staff and faculty. University employees can make appointments for common health issues through the new SLUCare Express and can be seen within 24 to 48 hours by a physician or adult nurse practitioner.
Appointments are available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The SLUCare Express Clinic can address:
- Cold and flu symptoms
- Conjunctivitis (also known as Pinkeye)
- Ear and throat infections
- Minor bumps and bruises
- Seasonal allergies
- Skin rashes
- Simple sprains and strains
- Sinus infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Upper respiratory tract infections
For those experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, severe headaches, broken bones or other series issues, SLUCare recommends going to the nearest emergency department of calling 911.
SLUCare Express is available to SLU employees regardless of whether or not a patient maintains health insurance coverage through the University or if the person is an existing patient of SLUCare General Internal Medicine.
SLU students should utilize Student Health Services. PRN staff members are not eligible for SLUCare Express at this time.
Those making appointments through the service can expect to be seen on the same day or the next day following her or his call. The appointment time and location information will be given to the patient during the scheduling call.
