Prayer Services, Listening Session Planned for This Week
This week, the Saint Louis University community is coming together in solidarity and prayer as it begins to process the changes that are occurring as part of the University’s reorganization efforts.
Following notifications to staff members on Tuesday, a prayer service was held at the end of the workday in St. Francis Xavier College Church. There will be two additional prayer services this week. The services will be held outdoors as follows:
- Wednesday, March 8: Noon-12:30 p.m. outside of the Health Sciences Education Union on the south campus. (The rain location is Pitlyk Auditorium C in the Learning Resources Center.)
- Friday, March 10: Noon-12:30 p.m. near the St. Ignatius statue behind DuBourg Hall on the north campus. (The rain location is the Sinquefield Stateroom on the fourth floor of DuBourg.)
The prayer services on Wednesday and Friday are open to SLU faculty, staff, clinicians and students of all faiths.
In addition to prayer services, the University will hold a SLU community meeting and listening session from 4-5 p.m. Thursday, March 9, in the Center for Global Citizenship. Senior University leaders will be present to address questions and to listen to concerns.
Thursday’s listening session is open to SLU staff, faculty, clinicians, and students. Administrative offices will close at 3:45 p.m. to allow members of the SLU community to attend.
