SLU to Partner with St. Vincent de Paul Society for Permanent Campus Collection Bins
As part of the Trash-to-Treasure program expansion through the Growing SLU innovation initiative, Saint Louis University is partnering with the St. Louis chapter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society to place collection bins across campus.
The initial collection bin will be located outside the west pedestrian exit from the Olive-Compton Parking Garage. Additional bins will be placed later this year on both the north and south campuses.
Employees and students are encouraged to donate clothing, accessories, and household goods, and SLU will receive 8-15 cents per pound of donated items. The money collected will go towards supporting low-income SLU students through the St. Vincent de Paul Society scholarship.
All items donated are fully tax-deductible, and donors can request a letter from St. Vincent de Paul through SLU's Center for Service and Community Engagement.
