Changes Coming with Parking Automation

As we get closer to the automation of Laclede, Hickory East, and Olive/Compton Garages, the new parking system will no longer accept any coupons you may have in your possession. These passes are used primarily by daily and hourly parkers or by departments for campus visitors. They should be returned to Parking and Card Services for updated replacement coupons.

Parking and Card Services will begin by lowering Hickory East Garage gates Monday, Sept. 25, and will monitor the transition and make changes if needed.  In the following weeks, they will then transition to Olive/Compton and Laclede Garage.  An attendant will be located in the respective garage to monitor the transition during the first week. This attendant will remain in Laclede Garage throughout the year to assist customers. 

Below is a brief explanation of the automation to each garage:

Hickory East Garage:

• Hickory East garage has been upgraded to an automated system. This garage will be unattended, with the ability for visitors and permit holders to use permits, credit cards, prepaid or validated tickets at both locations.
• Anyone wishing to pay with cash, or pay with credit card prior to returning to their car, can use the Pay-On-Foot, located near the elevator on Level 2.

Laclede Garage:

• Laclede garage has been upgraded to an automated system. Visitors will have the ability to use credit cards, prepaid tickets or validated tickets at the main entrance/exit.  Permit holders access will remain the same with access to both the upper and lower entrance/exit.
• Anyone wishing to pay with cash, or pay with credit card prior to returning to their car, can use the Pay-On-Foot, located near the main entrance/exit in the visitor section.
• There will be an attendant on duty during the day to assist customers, as well as, answer questions.

Olive/Compton Garage:

• Olive/Compton garage will remain unattended and has been upgraded with new parking equipment.  We have added 3 additional exit points for those needing to pay upon exit.  Both the Compton and the Olive exits have been equipped with an entrance lane, a reversible lane, and an exit late.  This will enable parkers to have 4 entrances during peak mornings and 4 exits in the evenings.  All exits are equipped to accept credit card, coupons, prepaid or validated tickets, as well as, permits.
• Anyone wishing to pay with cash, or pay with credit card prior to returning to their car, can use the Pay-On-Foot located near the elevator/security booth on the main level of the garage.
• Permit holders access will remain the same with access to both the middle entrance/exit on Olive.  This will also continue to be the entrance/exit permit holders should use during collection events.
