Law School to Host Elected Service Symposium
03/15/2018
Former St. Louis Mayor Francis G. Slay (Law '80) and former U.S. Ambassador to Ireland Kevin F. O'Malley (A&S '70, Law '73) will be the featured speakers at the School of Law’s Symposium on Careers in Elected Public Service on Wednesday, March 21.
The symposium will take place in the John K. Pruellage Courtroom, on the 12th floor of Scott Hall. Participants in the symposium will learn about meaningful careers as elected officials and the mechanics for getting started.
Registration and lunch begin at 11:45 a.m., and the symposium will conclude at 4:30 p.m., followed by a networking reception.
In addition to Slay and O’Malley, several other SLU LAW alumni will also present about their careers in public service.
This symposium is especially geared toward law and pre-law students, as it will also cover why lawyers are needed in the legislative process and will be an opportunity to network with several SLU LAW alumni in public service.
