Outrun Stigma 5K Set This Month

SLU Wellness will host its “Outrun Stigma” 5K fun run from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, at the Simon Recreation Center.
The 5K can be run outside or on a treadmill inside the rec center at the participant’s own pace. The race may be run any time within the run’s two-hour window.
Faculty/Staff can receive 250 vitality points for completing the run.
The race benefits Places for Peoples, a St. Louis nonprofit agency dedicated to providing caring, effective services to help those with the greatest challenges recover from mental illness and associated chronic illnesses.
Those donating $5 or an item to the charity and who complete the run will receive a shaker bottle and raffle ticket for a chance to win SLU gear. Early sign-up is encouraged as shaker bottle supplies are limited.
Places for People is specifically in need of the following types of donations:
- pots and pans
- can openers
- sheets, blankets, and towels
- non-perishable food
