Volunteers Needed for Speech and Voice Research Study

Yi-Fang Chiu, Ph.D., of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, is seeking healthy young adults for a research study in speech and voice disorder.

The purpose of the study is to examine how well listeners understand speakers with speech and voice disorders.

Healthy young adults ages 18 to 35 who are native English speakers without a speech, language and/or hearing disorder are eligible for the study.

Participants will listen to audio sentences and type responses on a keyboard. The study will last no more than an hour.  After successfully completing the study, volunteers will receive $10 gift card for participating in the study.

The Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocol number for the study is 29672 and the protocol was approved on Sept. 25, 2018.
