SLU Grads Drawn to Teach for America

09/13/2018

Saint Louis University was among the universities that contributed the greatest number of graduates to the 2018 Teach for America corps.

SLU ranked 20 in the nation among medium-sized universities and colleges, with 14 alumni who are part of Teach for America. The national organization recruits leaders to teach for at least two years in a low-income community to gain experience and perspective that they bring to future employment.

Service to others is intrinsic to life at SLU. The University recently was named the No. 1 school for community service by the Princeton Review.

In addition, to celebrate its bicentennial year, SLU encourages faculty, staff, students and members of the larger community to join together in giving the equivalent of 200 years of service before Nov. 14, 2018. Progress on the 200-Years-In-One Challenge is tracked on a neon clock at the corner of Grand and Lindell boulevards.
