DPS Holding Drug Disposal Events

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) are partnering for a drug disposal events.
The DEA will hold its event on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lobby of Wool Center.
DPS will hold its event on Monday, April 29, from 8 to 10 a.m. at locations across campus. Those locations include the DuBourg Hall break room, lobby of Scott Hall and end of Hickory Street between the Hickory East and West Garages.
DPS will be on hand to collect unwanted, expired and/or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications for destruction. This event is for patients and their families to dispose of unwanted prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
Disposable Items
- Any solid dosage form pharmaceutical products (tablets, capsules, etc.) in consumer containers may be accepted.
- Small (pint size) bottles of cough syrups may be disposed of if properly sealed.
Prohibited Items
- Illicit substances such as marijuana or heroin
- Needles
- Inhalers and other compressed air cylinders
