Archiving of Blackboard Courses to Begin

Information Technology Services (ITS), together with the Blackboard Support Team, will begin archiving courses from prior to the fall 2017 semester. The archiving process will begin after the close of business on Friday, Dec. 20, and continue for approximately two weeks.

The archiving is underway to ensure that the Blackboard Learn application operates efficiently and to allow ITS to remain in step with its existing goal of keeping courses on the system for two years after a term has been completed.

Courses that are archived will be recoverable in the system if a need arises. Once the archive is complete and made available by Blackboard to SLU, ITS will determine where it will be stored.

Faculty members who wish to recover a course or have another issue related to the archiving process should open a service request with the ITS Service Desk. Help is also available by emailing facsupport@slu.edu.
