In an email Friday, Nov. 8, Ford thanked SLU for going all out to support Team Blue at the Nov. 5 Billikens’ win over Florida Gulf Coast in the men’s basketball season opener.

“I have no doubt in my mind that the energy you provided was instrumental in us winning that game,” Ford said in the message.

The coach and team are asking fans to bring the same energy to games on Saturday, Nov. 9 against Valparaiso, and again on Wednesday, Nov. 13, when the Billikens face off against Eastern Washington.

Tip off for the Saturday game against Valparaiso is at 6 p.m. SLU will face Eastern Washington at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The Billikens also plan to carry forward a tradition begun during last season. After each game, Ford and the Billikens will “storm the student section,” to celebrate their latest win with fellow SLU students.

“If you regularly come to games, you’ve seen and know the excitement,” Ford continued. “If you haven’t attended a game at SLU, come Saturday. I think you’ll be hooked. I’ve been in hundreds of college basketball venues, and I’m being genuine when I say Chaifetz Arena – when packed with students – provides one of the top atmospheres in the country.”
