Annual Staff Service Day Set

10/01/2019

The Division of Human Resources’ Cura Program and the Center for Service and Community Engagement are teaming up for the second annual Staff Service Day on Monday, Oct. 21 and Tuesday, Oct. 22, during fall break.

Established during SLU’s Bicentennial year, this half-day of service for staff offers departments and divisions the opportunity to engage in community outreach while strengthening relationships among colleagues.

Groups can identify an off-site project on their own or they can reach out to the Center for Service and Community Engagement to help identify a service experience that works best for them.

Departments and divisions must register online as a group to participate.

Registration Form

Participation is voluntary and should be determined based on departmental approval. Staff members who participate will be paid as usual and volunteering will not affect their individual leave balances.

There will be on-site opportunities for units unable to participate in a half-day of service. Those will be held Oct. 21 in Busch Student Center’s Saint Louis Room, and the Doisy College of Health Sciences multipurpose room.

Due to patient care responsibilities, SLUCare staff will not be able to participate off-site, but they may participate in the one-hour volunteer opportunity Oct. 21 on south campus.

Participation will require departmental/supervisor approval and must not impact patient care responsibilities. Like University staff, SLUCare staff will be paid as usual and volunteering will not affect their leave balances.
