Survey About SLU's Current Administrative Systems Will Help Measure Effectiveness of Workday
The executive sponsors of the Workday project – David Heimburger, VP and CFO; Mickey Luna, vice president for human resources; and David Hakanson, VP and CIO – are asking faculty and staff to complete a brief survey on their experiences with the University’s current administrative systems, including Banner and PeopleAdmin.
While dissatisfaction with those systems is well-known – it was a major factor behind the move to a new partner – the executive sponsors believe this survey will give them a baseline on specific metrics to help them determine how well Workday is meeting the SLU community’s needs when a follow-up survey is conducted next year using the same questions.
Among the key success indicators these surveys will measure are:
- Faculty and staff can reduce the time they spend on administrative tasks by using optimized processes in a single system.
- Faculty and staff can complete tasks faster by using a simple and intuitive interface.
- Managers can more effectively lead their teams through real-time access to better data.
- University leaders have easy access to data that they can trust.
The surveys are part of the larger effort to engage the SLU community in the journey to Workday. Heimburger, Luna and Hakanson recently participated in two open forums, where they and others supporting the project provided updates and answered questions about the transition. Extensive testing of the system by functional experts and end-users continues.
