Faculty Recognized for Contributions to University Community

Wynne Moskop, Ph.D., and Denise Hooks-Anderson, M.D., were recognized for their contributions to the University and the community at the Faculty Senate Kickoff Dinner on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the School of Law.
The annual event brings together members of the Faculty Senate, Staff Advisory Committee, Student Government Association, University administration and trustees. It was led by current Faculty Senate President Ruth Evans, Ph.D., professor of English.
Remarks by Evans, Joseph Conran, chair of the University Board of Trustees, and Univeristy President Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D., were followed by the awards presentations.
John A. Slosar Shared Governance Award
Moskop, an associate professor of political science, received the John A. Slosar Shared Governance Award. The award honors and recognizes a faculty member who has provided outstanding contributions to the advancement of shared governance at the University.
Dr. Norman A. White Award for Engaged Scholarship and Service
Hooks-Anderson, an associate professor in family and community medicine and a SLUCare family physician, received the Dr. Norman A. White Award for Engaged Scholarship and Service. The award is named for longtime faculty member Norman A. White, Ph.D., who was highly respected as both as a scholar and community activist. White passed away in 2017. The award honors a faculty member’s contributions to the University and to the St. Louis community.
