New University Policies Take Effect

Five policies are now in effect or will become effective after completing the University policy approval process. The five include both revisions to current University policies and new University policies.

Revised Policies
Civil Discourse, Speech, And Expression Policy
- The focus of the policy is on creating an environment for learning that embraces diverse opinions across political and ideological spectrums and encourages civil discourse while assuring that the legitimate concerns of the institution for reverence toward diversity, safety of its community and security of the campus environment are met.
Protection of Minors Policy
- Saint Louis University seeks to conduct its operations and maintain its campuses so as to provide an academic environment that is safe and supportive of the pursuits of its students, faculty, staff and visitors, and consistent with its mission.
Staff Vacation Policy
- Inherent in the Saint Louis University mission is the heritage and tradition that promotes 1) the emotional, social, intellectual needs of the individual, and 2) the freedom of the individual to determine how these needs are to be met. The University provides paid vacation so that employees can rest, rejuvenate and maintain a healthy and productive work environment. (Effective date October 2020)
New Policies
Emergency Notification Policy
- The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all members of the Saint Louis University (SLU) community are made aware of serious or on-going threats to their safety in a timely manner, as is required by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). 20 USCA § 1092; 34 CFR 668.46(e).
Workplace Violence Prevention Policy
- Saint Louis University is committed to promoting and maintaining a safe and secure environment for its faculty, staff, students, patients, and visitors.
