Fresh Gatherings Café Sells Holiday Turkeys, Pumpkin Pies
Fresh Gatherings Café, operated by the Saint Louis University (SLU) Nutrition and Dietetics department, is again selling turkeys this holiday season. This year, Fresh Gatherings will also sell pumpkin pies to benefit Billiken Bounty.
The turkeys are broad-breasted, pasture-raised white turkeys from Buttonwood Farms in California, MO. The turkeys are raised with no growth hormones or antibiotics, are fresh – never frozen, and removed from pasture for processing a day before delivery.
In addition to turkeys and turkey breasts, customers can order large eggs, house-made turkey stock and Hokkaido milk rolls. Order pickup will be in Fresh Gatherings Café on the ground floor of SLU’s Allied Health Professions Building on Monday, Nov. 23 or Tuesday, Nov. 24 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Fresh Gatherings has teamed up with Billiken Bounty to sell local pumpkin pies in support of the SLU food pantry. The pies will be handmade using local pumpkin puree and ingredients and will come with whipped cream made with Rolling Lawns Heavy Cream.
Pies are available for pre-order with two pick up options (Nov. 17-18 and Nov. 23-24). All proceeds from pie sales will be donated to Billiken Bounty Food Pantry.
The Deadline for orders is Tuesday, Nov. 17.
