Congratulate Graduating Billikens
Saint Louis University faculty, staff, current students and alumni are invited to submit short video messages to the Class of 2021. Messages will be posted on slu.edu and may be included in a highlight video showcased during SLU's virtual commencement ceremony May 23.
Videos must be submitted by April 28, 2021. (Due to production deadlines, we won’t be able to consider those videos submitted after this date.) Need inspiration? Check out last year's videos below.
Tips For Recording Your Video
-
Videos should be 10-30-seconds in length.
-
Consider addressing your hopes for the future of these Billikens, what memories you have of them, and/or what is special about this graduating class. You may also want to record yourself saying “We are OneSLU,” for use in a possible montage.
-
Record your video horizontally (landscape mode) and follow the suggestions below to ensure quality.
- Lighting: Position yourself facing toward a light source. Avoid situations where bright light or direct sunlight is behind you.
- Framing: Look into the lens and aim to include at least your head and shoulders in the frame.
- Sound: Record somewhere with limited background noise. Remember that outdoor sounds such a light wind may be amplified on video making it hard to hear you. If possible, play back your video before submitting to ensure there are no audio issues and re-record if necessary.
- Apparel: Consider wearing Billiken gear to show your SLU pride.
