Global Billikens Arriving for Fall 2021 Semester
08/25/2021
Saint Louis University and INTO Saint Louis University began welcoming the nearly 200 new international students to campus, and online, for the beginning of the fall 2021 semester.
Global Billikens will begin their academic journeys in a variety of programs including: Academic English, INTO SLU pathway programs and direct entry undergraduate and graduate programs. International students will be welcomed to the SLU campus community through engaging international orientation sessions, interactive, and immersive activities to introduce and connect them with Saint Louis University, the St. Louis community and U.S. culture while following COVID-19 protocols.
For many international students, studying abroad during a pandemic has brought many unique challenges. However, with the help of welcoming Student Ambassadors, faculty, and staff, international students will find their transition to the US and SLU to be a fulfilling, comprehensive and supportive beginning to the transformative educational experience at SLU.
“We are thrilled to see that so many students from around the world are excited and ready to begin their SLU education," said Kathleen Davis, vice president for enrollment management at Saint Louis University. "International students have navigated their way through this challenging pandemic to join us. Some students have gone to extraordinary lengths, like traveling outside their home countries to secure their student visas, to make SLU a reality – truly inspiring."
The Office of International Services, INTO SLU, Office of Admissions and the team of International Ambassadors form a comprehensive support system for new international students at SLU and play an integral role in assisting them in their transition to life in the United States and at Saint Louis University.
International ambassadors begin connecting with our international students during orientation and remain a vital resource in assuring that integration and acculturation efforts continue beyond orientation through both formal and informal programming and events.
