IronSLU 2021 Starts February 15
02/08/2021
All current Saint Louis University students, faculty, staff and current members of the Simon Recreation Center are eligible to participate in the five week program to cover the distance of an "Ironman" triathlon.
Participants will have 5 weeks to cover the distance of an "Ironman" triathlon:
- 2.4 miles swimming (16 laps per week)
- 112 miles biking (22.4 miles per week)
- 26.2 miles running (5.24 miles per week)
IronSLU 2021 runs Monday, Feb. 15 and closes Sunday, March 21.
Participants can complete anywhere. Swim in the indoor pool at the Simon Rec Center, run on the Med Campus outdoor track, bike to Saint Louis University or run on a treadmill in your basement.
IronSLU is a fun, free and a great motivator for cross-training. Participants are responsible for tracking their distances and submitting weekly (reporting form sent via email to participants once they've registered).
All participants who actively engage in the program and complete the distances will receive a free t-shirt and be entered into a raffle to win great prizes. Participants will receive weekly emails on Mondays with information, updates, tips and encouragement.
Masks are required at all times in the Simon Rec Center (aside from showering and swimming). Please be sure to follow all COVID-19 safety guidelines and procedures.
