USA Central and Southern Province Provincial to Preside Over Student Mass

On Sunday, Feb. 14, the Saint Louis University community is invited to join the Department of Campus Ministry in welcoming Tom Greene, S.J., Provincial of the Jesuits USA Central and Southern  (UCS) Province as the presider at the 8 p.m. student Mass.

Students can register to attend Mass in person by using the Campus Ministry registration form or by emailing Campus Minister Erin Schmidt at litmin@slu.edu.

Faculty, staff, parents and alumni can view the live-stream Mass on Campus Ministry’s YouTube channel. 

Greene was named provincial in 2019 and assumed his duties July 31, 2020, succeeding Ronald A. Mercier, S.J. 

He previously served as provincial assistant for international ministries and as Jesuit superior of the Jesuit Community of Belize, Central America. Greene was the rector (superior) of Bellarmine House of First Studies at SLU from 2014 until his appointment to Belize in 2017. He represented the UCS Province as a delegate in 2016 at the Society of Jesus’ 36th General Congregation. From 2010 to 2014, Fr. Greene was Secretary for Social and International Ministries at the Jesuit Conference of the United States in Washington, D.C.
