Interviews Scheduled With Finalists for SLU’s AVP for Public Safety

11/02/2021

To the Saint Louis University community:

We are thrilled to announce that we are bringing four finalists to campus in the coming weeks for our search for SLU’s next Assistant Vice President for Public Safety.

Tremendous thanks to our dedicated search committee for the time spent discussing candidate qualifications, interviewing semi-finalists and ultimately identifying four candidates for you –– our campus community –– to meet and interview.

Since the AVP for Public Safety role has such a critical impact on all of our St. Louis campuses, we have created an interview schedule that allows people to engage with the search virtually or in person, depending on what works best for you.

Each candidate will meet with a broad cross section of our campus during their campus visits, including a presentation that is open to all members of our University community. The candidates received the following prompt for their presentations:

Tell us what we can expect during your first 100 days as SLU’s AVP for the Department of Public Safety. How will you engage with the campus? What initiatives and innovations will you undertake to promote trust and ensure the safety of the SLU community? How will the Jesuit/Catholic mission factor into your plans? Please cite specific examples.

We invite you to submit questions for the open forum using this Google Form

After each day, we will post the video recordings of the campus presentation and a survey from our partners at Spelman Johnson on the search website to collect your feedback. In the meantime, you can send any questions to studev@slu.edu

Thank you in advance for your participation in this important search!
