Giving Tuesday at Saint Louis University Kicks Off November 16
11/12/2021
The Office of Alumni and Donor Engagement invites the SLU family – faculty, staff, students and alumni – to proudly be men and women for others by participating in the University’s Giving Tuesday efforts starting Tuesday, Nov. 16, and ending Tuesday, Nov. 30.
This campaign is designed to benefit a variety of service programs and organizations such as Campus Kitchen, Casa de Salud and the Blue Santa Toy Drive, an annual SLU tradition where our very own Blue Santa brings toys to children in need throughout the region. Last year, the toy drive raised over $20,000 during Giving Tuesday and delivered countless smiles through the holiday season.
This year, in addition to making a gift online, faculty and staff are also welcome to collect toys as a department/unit, and bring them in person to Blue Santa's Workshop in the Busch Student Center, Room 251, anytime between 11a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9.
All toys collected or purchased with donations will be given to families in need through non-profit organizations such as Catholic Charities, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Mission St. Louis, LifeWise STL, Gateway 180 and Whole Kids Outreach.
SLU community members who want to do more are encouraged to help spread the word and encourage friends and family to make gifts toward these important SLU service organizations this Giving Tuesday. Be sure to follow the alumni Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to track progress and see why people are choosing to support Giving Tuesday at Saint Louis University.
