The Justice Fleet “Radical Forgiveness” art exhibit was displayed at the Busch Student Center Amphitheater on Friday, Sept. 24, as part of the University’s day dedicated to self care and reflection.

The Justice Fleet “Radical Forgiveness” art exhibit was displayed at the Busch Student Center Amphitheater on Friday, Sept. 24, as part of the University’s day dedicated to self care and reflection.

In a joint message to the SLU community Tuesday, Provost Michael Lewis, Ph.D.; Vice President for Student Development Sarah Cunningham, Ed.D.; and SGA President Nandini Fonseca announced a pause to allow students to focus on their mental health. Students were encouraged to use the day to connect with each other and/or with our staff and faculty.

Staff, faculty and students developed a schedule of engagement opportunities for students seeking a chance to connect with each other and/or SLU’s staff and faculty.

Some of the events scheduled included an Examen walk, trauma-informed yoga, Java with the Jesuits, therapy dogs, a Moment of Peace at the Clock Tower an art and healing exhibit. There also were all-day events that included expanded on-site mental health support, Walk-in Support Spaces and Emotional Liaisons.

Friday’s events come after the University had a prayer service Wednesday afternoon to mourn the two students.
