For the first time in three years, the Women’s Commission gathered in person for its annual Women of the Year Luncheon.
The event recognizes the contributions of women to the success of the University's mission. At the lunch on Wednesday, April 20, in the Wool Ballroom in Busch Student Center, five new names were added to the list of winners.

Since 1977, the Saint Louis University Women’s Commission has selected and honored outstanding University women. The winners are selected from nominations submitted by colleagues, friends, supervisors, and others whose lives they have touched.
The first woman of the year, named in 1977, was Mary A. Bruemmer. At Wednesday’s luncheon, the Women’s Commission announced that starting in 2023, the women of the year award will be named for Bruemmer, who died in December 2021.
A list of past honorees is available online.
Also recognized at the luncheon were the Sister Shirley Kolmer Memorial grant recipients from 2020, 2021, and 2022. The grant, established in 2016, supports the mission of the Women’s Commission, which is to educate, enrich, and empower the women of SLU by providing funding to connect SLU women with opportunities that foster their personal and professional development.
