New Year, New Episodes: 'Mission Matters' Podcast Highlights Those Living SLU's Mission

Saint Louis University’s Office of Mission and Identity is starting the new year with new episodes of its podcast Mission Matters.
The podcast highlights people and initiatives which embody Jesuit traditions at Saint Louis University. New episodes drop each Monday.
The episodes feature conversations between host Virginia Herbers, director of spiritual formation in Mission and Identity, and members of the SLU community. Episodes in 2022 include:
- Ghazala Hayat, M.D., a SLUCare neurologist and a professor of neurology in the School of Medicine, speaking about how health care workers are doing in this time of Omicron
- Carlos Esparza, S.J., Ph.D., assistant professor of economics, discussing how his research intersects with the mission of the Catholic Church as well as SLU’s mission and how his identity as a Jesuit priest has been impacted by his formation in the Society of Jesus as well as his ministry within it.
