SLU and WashU to Co-Host ICTS Big Data Research Symposium

The Advanced Health Data (AHEAD) Institute at Saint Louis University and the Center for Administrative Data Research (CADR) at Washington University in St. Louis will co-host the Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS) Big Data Research Symposium. The event will be Wednesday, Sept. 14, in the Allied Health Multipurpose Room on Saint Louis University’s campus from noon to 5 p.m.

The ICTS Big Data Research Symposium will showcase administrative data research aimed at improving health outcomes, quality of care, and health service delivery. The goal of this event is to bring leaders in big data health outcomes research together from across the St. Louis Region.

The event will feature keynote presentations from Christine Jacobs, M.D., Dean of the School of Medicine and Vice President of Medical Affairs at Saint Louis University, and William G. Powderly, M.D. Associate Dean for Clinical and Translational Sciences and Director of ICTS at Washington University in St. Louis. The event also will feature a poster session, and oral presentations.

The AHEAD Institute and CADR are both Cores of the ICTS Just-in-Time funding program at Washington University in St. Louis. Both organizations provide expertise and consultation in the use of large administrative data sources for health outcomes research. Their services help drive robust research productivity for clinical faculty across a wide range of health topics.

During the event, a new funding opportunity for collaborative research will also be announced.
