Beyond the Disability Retreat Seeks University Input
10/25/2022
Beyond the Disability Retreat is a collaborative effort between the Saint Louis University Cross Cultural Center for Global Citizenship and the Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources. Organizers are seeking community input to gather more information from the University community.
Beyond the Disability is an community building retreat that allows students who self identify as a student with a disability the opportunity to build community both with their peers, staff and allies. It will encompass meaning making, ableism, belonging, allyship, self authorship, identity and/or person centered language. The goal of this retreat is not to define disability but to shed a positive light on our various identities.
The survey will allow the department representatives sponsoring the event more information to determine the following: if this is something students desire to participate in, what participation may entail, accommodations, etc. This survey is anonymous for privacy purposes.
Organizers will have an detailed informational about the retreat based on responses. Contact Erica McBride for more information.
