Center for Social Action Accepting Applications for Social Action Trips
10/13/2022
The Center for Social Action through the Division of Diversity and Innovative Community Engagement is accepting applications for Social Action Trips until Friday, Nov. 11.
Social Action Trips are intensive justice-based experiential learning and advocacy opportunities. They allow the CSA to build partnership across the globe with communities navigating inequities we also face in St. Louis and return to apply the knowledge we gain here at home.
Teams of 10-12 students train weekly and prepare for the trip over spring break. Meetings include formation and advocacy planning.
The trips cost between $600-$800. Scholarships are available.
Trips include:
- US-Mexico Border with an Immigration Focus: Thursdays 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- New Orleans with an LGBTQIA+ Focus: Tuesdays 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Belize with a Multicultural Focus: Mondays 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Civil Rights Pilgrimage (different application)
Apply by filling out the Google form.
Trips fulfill the CP2 Core Requirements and they are a great way to get involved at SLU and in the Community.
