Dietetic Students Seeking Volunteers for Healthy Habit Counseling Program
10/21/2022
A group of nutrition and dietetic students are seeking volunteers for a four-session healthy habit-building experience. The goal is to work together to build healthy habits before the holidays.
The 50 minute appointments are available Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., or noon.
Session 1 will be held Wednesday, Nov. 2, where volunteers will work with their counselor to set healthy habit goals. Then, volunteers will keep working on goals during Session 2 on Wednesday, Nov. 16, and Session 3 on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
The final session on Wednesday, Dec. 7, will be about strategies to sustain new habits throughout the holidays and winter break.
Reserve a spot to receive an email with instructions and a calendar invite.
Volunteers may withdraw at any time and are not required to complete all 4 sessions of the program. The sessions are offered in person at Allied Health Building or via telehealth.
The sessions are led by senior dietetic students who are not yet registered dietitians and can’t help with a special physician-recommended diet. The goal of the sessions is so the students can use this experience to prepare for their dietetic internships and future professional practice.
Maria Romo-Palafox, Ph.D., will be supervising our practice as part of her course, DIET 4500. Feel free to contact her at maria.romopalafox@health.slu.edu with any questions.
