Lacy Named Director of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX

Justin Lacy is Saint Louis University’s new Director of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX. He started in the role on Aug. 1. 

Lacy comes to SLU from the University of Illinois Systems Office where he served as the System Offices as the Assistant Director of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion and served as the System Offices' Title IX Coordinator. He previously worked at SLU from 2013 to 2016 as a Human Resources Consultant and Deputy Title IX Coordinator.

“I can’t tell you how excited I am to be back at SLU full time,” Lacy said. “My team and I will continue to ensure full university compliance with our Title IX, affirmative action, and equal opportunity programs. At the same time, we will be developing and implementing additional training and educational opportunities to ensure we are creating an equitable and diverse academic and work environment that is rooted in our Jesuit mission.”

The mission of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX is to promote a deep understanding and appreciation among the diverse members of the Saint Louis University community, to promote justice and equality in educational and employment opportunities, as well as to lead efforts to create an inclusive academic and work environment.

Prior to his time at Saint Louis University, Lacy earned his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University. He graduated with a degree in business administration and with Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc., a casino and hospitality company. He worked in various HR roles at 6 different hotel/casinos in 3 different states, culminating in the Employee Relations Manager position at Lumiere Place Casino & Hotels in St. Louis.

While working full-time, Lacy became a Billiken for the first time. He attended night classes and earned his master of business administration degree in 2019. After earning his M.B.A., Lacy enrolled on the Saint Louis University School of Law and earned his Juris Doctor degree in Spring 2013. He completed a specialization in Labor & Employment Law while attending SLU Law.  

In addition to his time at SLU, Lacy has been a Senior Human Resources Consultant & Title IX Coordinator at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and the Director of Human Resources Consulting Services, Equal Opportunity, & Title IX Coordinator at Oklahoma State University. 

Lacy also has worked as an adjunct instructor at SLU, UMSL, Oklahoma State, Pennsylvania State University and Governors State University.
