SLU Week of Discovery Kicks off September 19
09/13/2022
SLU is launching a new week of events designed to allow students to reflect on and explore opportunities related to their degree and future endeavors. The Fall 2022 Week of Discovery takes place the week of Sept. 19.
The Week of Discovery includes three events — an academic fair, a career expo, and vocation conversations. Each event is open to undergraduate and graduate students and has attendance prizes.
The academic fair will be Monday, Sept. 19, from noon to 4 p.m. in the Wool Ballroom in the Busch Student Center. Attendees will engage with departments and programs to develop their academic portfolios. They will be given a chance to discuss majors, minors, study abroad, pre-health, pre-law, fellowships, scholarships, internships, department activities, graduate programs, and certificates.
The career expo will be Wednesday, Sept. 21, from noon to 4 p.m. in the Wool Ballroom. The expos will offer students a chance to develop relationships with future employers, discuss potential internships, demonstrate communication skills, and decide on a career path.
The vocation conversations will be Thursday, Sept. 22, at the SLU Jesuit Center. There will be multiple time slots open for students to engage in a conversation regarding vocation vs. career and reflect on their journey with Ignatian decision-making principles.
Students who attend all three events receive an additional prize, and attendees at each event are entered for a chance to win a Samsonite 3-piece luggage set.
Registration is preferred using Handshake. For more information, and to register, visit the Week of Discovery web page.
