Senior Legacy Symposium Nominations Due March 10
02/23/2023
The 16th annual Senior Legacy Symposium, sponsored by the Division of Academic Affairs and coordinated by the University Honors Program, will occur on Tuesday, May 2, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Busch Student Center.
For the last 15 years, the Senior Legacy Symposium has provided a venue for students to share their culminating academic achievements with the Saint Louis University community. This event showcases SLU's commitment to research, creative work, and mission-inspired community practice. It also serves as a highly anticipated celebration that brings students, faculty, and staff together at the end of the academic year.
All undergraduate academic departments/programs are eligible to participate by nominating up to three students for the Symposium. Nominated students should be graduating seniors from the 2022-2023 academic year. Each department/program is encouraged to determine an appropriate mechanism for selecting their student participants. Common methods in the past have included faculty nomination, a faculty selection committee, departmental symposia, and more. Individual names of nominated students are due Friday, March 10, 2023.
Interested departments/programs must complete a student information request form for this purpose. Organizers understand some departments require additional time to identify students for the symposium. Legacy staff will work with departments whose timelines conflict with this deadline.
Legacy staff will review all nominations submitted in March and communicate directly with students and departments about additional needs.
Nominated students will have the choice to participate in one of four available formats: a traditional poster presentation, a creative presentation (limited spots available), an individual oral presentation, or an interdisciplinary research panel in which they share information about their projects and engage in dialogue with students from other fields.
