Training Opportunity Available On Universal Design and the ADA
01/31/2023
The Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources (CADR) and the Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning have developed training for faculty and instructors.
This training covers information on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA), specifically examining how the ADA directly impacts course material and structure and the instructor's use of specific teaching methods, as well as learning about Universal Design and exploring how to implement Universal Design in courses and teaching methods.
This is an asynchronous course that opens on Monday, Feb. 13, and closes on Monday, Feb. 27. There is an additional, synchronous component offered on Thursday, March 2, where there will be an open forum for questions and discussions with JP Hasman, a member of the Office of General Counsel.
Hasman will provide expertise and insight to the ADA and how it impacts SLU and higher education overall. Interested individuals can register with this Google Form. When registering, individuals should ensure that they are using their SLU login credentials. For more information, please contact Myles Urban (myles.urban@slu.edu), Alexandra Rogers (alex.rogers@slu.edu), or Eric Royer (eric.royer@slu.edu).
