Adolescent Volunteers Needed for Center for Vaccine Development Research Study
03/30/2023
Saint Louis University’s Center for Vaccine Development is conducting a research study to learn more about a new mpox vaccine.
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to study the safety and immune response of adolescents compared to adults receiving the licensed dose of JYNNEOS and give study data to support the FDA approval of JYNNEOS for use in adolescents. The use of this vaccine in this study is investigational as it is not approved by the FDA to be -used-in adolescents.
JYNNEOS has been given to children, adolescents, and adults who were exposed to mpox, and people who were more likely to get mpox during the 2022 mpox outbreak. JYNNEOS is the only FDA approved vaccine for mpox and is the preferred vaccine; however, JYNNEOS is not approved for non-emergency use in adolescents.
