SLU Research Institute Publishes 2022 Annual Impact Report

03/10/2023

The Saint Louis University Research Institute has published its 2022 Annual Impact Report, celebrating research successes from September 2021 to September 2022.

The Impact Report features SLU researchers and their impressive successes, thereby demonstrating the school’s position as a preeminent research university.

The 2022 edition highlights research successes stemming from a variety of fields across the university, including the humanities, geospatial science, neuroscience, global Catholicism, additive manufacturing, and economics.

This year’s report introduces the Center for the Research of Global Catholicism (CRGC), a new Big Idea project sponsored by the Research Growth Fund at SLU. Notably, the CRGC is the first Big Idea grounded in the humanities.

The 2022 issue also includes letters from University President Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D., and Research Institute Director Ken Olliff, updates from each of the institutes launched by faculty with support from the Research Institute, and information about the 2022 Research Institute Fellows.

The Research Institute publishes its Impact Report every year for the University community, its friends, and benefactors. This is the third edition of the Impact Report.

As in previous years, the Research Institute invited faculty, staff, and student researchers to submit content for the Impact Report. The 2022 report includes announcements and updates solicited through that process. The Research Institute will announce the submission process for the 2023 issue this summer.
