Graduate Education Three-Minute Thesis Competition Winners Announced

The Office of Graduate Education held its Annual Three-Minute Thesis Competition on Wednesday, Feb. 22, for doctoral and master's candidates who have successfully passed their prospectus proposal. Participants had three minutes to present their research and show the audience what it means and why it matters.
The competition offered prizes in both categories — first place - $750; second place - $500; third place - $250).
This year's winners are:
Master’s Category
- First Place: Madeline Billeaud – Industrial and Organizational Psychology
- Thesis: The Cognitive Component of Work-Family Management: Strain-Related Outcomes of Mental Labor in Working Mothers
- Second Place: Theresa Schneider – Biology
- Thesis: From Trash to Treasure: Revising our perspective of ‘Junk DNA' with New Technology
- Third Place: Carley Olson – Anatomy
- Thesis: A Rare Case of Extensive Hernias and Penoscrotal Webbing
Doctoral Category
- First Place: Rachel Rimmerman – Public and Social Policy
- Thesis: Lead in School Drinking Water: A Comparative Case Study of Stakeholders, their Perceptions, and the Policy Process in Missouri and New York
- Second Place: Gwendalyn Krekeler – Biology
- Thesis: The Role of Glutathione Synthesis in Group B Streptococcus Infection and Host Response
