SLU Medals in Campus Race to Zero Waste Challenge

This year Saint Louis University took part in the annual Campus Race to Zero Waste challenge along with many other college campuses nationwide. SLU took third place for Electronic Waste Collected per Capita, totaling 1.63 pounds per individual.

SLU participated in an e-waste collection drive that collects any electronics with a chord to be taken to Midwest Recycling Center and properly recycled. This year the facilities department collected over 25,000 pounds of electronic waste from the e-waste drive and from departments getting rid of old equipment. 

Event organizers were pleased to the finish and called said the goal next year to is to earn a first-place finish. Organizers said they will continue to spread awareness of the importance of this competition among the SLU community.
