Saint Louis University Marks International Education Week 2023

Saint Louis University came alive with a display of culture, traditional cuisine, and fun activities to celebrate International Education Week. The annual event took place from Nov. 13 to Nov. 17. 

International Education Week is an opportunity to promote the importance of diversity and the benefits of rich cultural exchange in education. It is a time to showcase the dynamic cultures, academic excellence, and diversity SLU international students bring to the University community.

The Cross-Cultural Center for Global Citizenship organized a week-long event in collaboration with the Office of International Services, Student Involvement Center, and International Student Federation to celebrate SLU’s diverse international student community.

The week began with a night of cultural board games and traditional snacks. International Billikens gathered round tables at the Center for Global Citizenship in a friendly battle of games.

Taste of Diwali

Thursday was the celebration of Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, the most celebrated traditional event worldwide. The event celebrates the triumph of good over evil, joy over despair, and light over darkness. Students came together to enjoy Indian sweets, desserts, and cultural performances.

International Gala Talent Show

The week concluded with the gala talent show organized by the International Student Federation (ISF), where various students showcased talents ranging from painting, dance, and musical performances.
