Friday Mass and Speaker Series Continues November 3

The next Friday Mass and Speaker Series will be on Friday, Nov. 3, in Boileau Hall. Historian Ellen Skerrett will be the guest lecturer for the event.
The event begins with Mass at noon. Lunch and the lecture follow. Registration in advance is encouraged.
Skerrett will deliver the lecture, “Recovering the stories of ‘Ours’ since 1823: the Missouri Jesuit Legacy." Skerrett is the author of the first published history of Loyola University Chicago (2008) and served as a researcher/editor for volumes two and three of The Selected Papers of Jane Addams (2009-2019). She is currently at work on a history of Chicago’s Saint Ignatius College Prep, founded in 1869 by Arnold Damen, S.J.
In a presentation accompanied by images, Skerrett will discuss little-known dimensions of the Missouri Province experience that began in St. Louis with the arrival of Belgian Jesuits in 1823.
