Limited Submission Opportunity for Mallinckrodt Scholar Award

The Mallinckrodt Scholar Award Program, through the Edward Mallinckrodt Jr. Foundation, is a competitive funding opportunity designed to provide faculty members who hold M.D. and/or Ph.D. degrees, and are in their fifth to eighth year of a tenure-track position, with support to move the project forward to the point where other independent funding can be obtained.
The award provides funding for up to 4 years at $125,000 per year, commencing October 1, 2024. Applicants may have current R01 funding from the National Institutes of Health.
Guidance for the Nomination Process
Saint Louis University is one of 31 institutions invited to nominate two candidates. Competition is by invitation only. An internal competition will be held to assign the two slots. Interested investigators should submit a 1-2 page summary of their proposed project and Biosketch in NIH format by 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov 17, 2023.
Submit documents through SLU's OpenWater portal.
A SLU faculty selection committee will review and select the most suitable investigators
and investigators will be notified of their results by Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, barring
any unforeseen circumstances. If selected, the full proposal deadline is Monday,
Jan. 15, 2024.

in the final proposal and will be of particular importance to the non-scientific trustees
of the Foundation.
