Office of Admission Seeks Volunteers for Scholarship Interviews
01/08/2024
In February and March, the Office of Admission will host three interview weekends in conjunction with two competitive undergraduate scholarships: the Presidential Scholarship and the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship. Faculty and staff members are needed to serve as interviewers and aid in the recruitment of the University’s fall 2024 incoming class.
The full-tuition Presidential Scholarship is awarded to a select number of SLU’s most qualified freshman applicants. This year, the University will invite approximately 500 students to interview for the Presidential Scholarship during the course of two consecutive weekends. Interviews will take place on Saturday, Feb. 17, and Saturday, Feb. 24.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship is awarded to students who are committed to promoting diversity and social justice. Awardees must demonstrate leadership in multicultural, school or community activities that espouse Dr. King’s ideals and present a vision to increase diversity and change on SLU’s campus. Interviews for this scholarship will take place on Saturday, March 23.
Breakfast and lunch will be served during the interviews.
Because the magnitude of each scholarship weekend requires the involvement of so many individuals, faculty, staff and alumni, participation is needed.
Virtual interviews will be offered to international students, American students living abroad and students who have financial constraints that do not allow them to travel to campus and St. Louis. Volunteer interviewers are also needed for these interviews.
Presidential Scholarship virtual interviews will be held Monday, Feb. 26 to Friday, March 1, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship virtual interviews will be held Monday, March 4 to Friday, March 8, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Interviewers will be able to choose their schedule based on availability. They can participate in as few or as many interviews as their schedule allows.
