Symplectic Elements Training Sessions Scheduled This Summer
05/31/2024
Symplectic Elements is a faculty profile software platform designed to showcase academic and research accomplishments for internal and external audiences while providing faculty complete control over what appears on their profile.
Elements' internal tools help build a scholarship profile, recommending scholarly works to claim. Once a user claims their Author Identifiers from scholarly databases, the system can automatically populate publications. For scholars who have works that are not captured by traditional publishing, organizers will work with you to make sure your faculty profile accurately reflects your up-to-date scholarly output.
- Elements - the internal faculty profile system - will house current and past academic and professional information.
- Discovery - the external tool - will let users find SLU collaborators, showcase their work externally, and help students identify research and mentorship opportunities.
Training materials for SLU faculty to access can be found online.
Organizers have planned virtual demonstrations and tutorial sessions for the coming weeks. Register for one or more of four meetings in June/July.
- Friday, June 7, at 11 a.m.
- Tuesday, June 25, at 9 a.m.
- Monday, July 8, at 1 p.m.
- Friday, July 19, at 7:30 a.m.
These demonstrations are general sessions open to all where faculty can ask questions and learn the ins and outs of claiming author identifiers, building a profile, confirming publications, and more. Groups of faculty can arrange more specialized trainings, and we can add sessions as demand dictates.
