SLU Core Hosting Guest Speaker October 23
10/11/2024
The Saint Louis University Core will host Fr. Brian Christopher, S.J. at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, in room 254 of the Busch Student Center. Christopher will lead a discussion on how to best infuse Ignatian principles into our students' community engagement experiences.
SLU’s Core curriculum is built upon nine graduation-level student learning outcomes. The ninth outcome ensures that “All SLU graduates will apply and acquire knowledge through engagement beyond the University.” This learning outcome will be the focus of this event with Christopher, an alum of SLU and current Superior of the Jesuit Community in Belize.
Drawing on his years of experience working in disadvantaged and marginalized communities, as well as on his own community engagement experiences while an undergraduate at SLU, Christopher will guide participants in a conversation about how SLU can best prepare students to encounter the "gritty reality" of the world and learn from their engagement beyond campus.
