Planned Technology Outage Starts October 26
10/18/2024
ITS is planning a technology outage beginning Saturday, Oct. 26. Multiple systems will be unavailable during the outage.
The following systems will be unavailable for everyone from 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27.
- Banner Self Service and INB applications
- ODS and Reporting data
- Degreeworks
- Webfocus ReportCaster
- Uc4/Atomic
What does this mean for students
During the outage, students will not have access to either Banner Self-Service or TouchNet (for bill payment). Additionally, students for whom registration is open will be unable to drop, add, or withdraw from courses. All students will still be able to view the 2024-25 schedule of classes at http://courses.slu.edu, but will not be able to login or put courses in their carts.
What does this mean for faculty and staff?
Beyond not having direct access to both Banner Self-Service and INB, during the outage faculty and staff will also not have access to updated Banner-based data (including course rosters, student registration data, academic advising tools, etc.) in Canvas, Degree Works, Tableau, Cognos or other systems that use Banner data.
When Banner will be available again?
Check the ask.slu.edu homepage for additional information during the outage.
If anyone has any questions or technology issues, they should reach out to the IT Service desk at 314-977-4000, ask@slu.edu, or https://ask.slu.edu.
