Mass and Speaker Series Continues November 1
10/18/2024
This fall the Division for Mission and Identity at SLU will offer the Friday Mass and Speaker Series. The guest speaker for November will be Patricia Bass, Ph.D., Director of the Jesuit Worldwide Learning Program.
The Friday, Nov. 1, event begins with a noon Mass at Boileau Hall followed by lunch and a speaker in the main meeting room.
The focus of the talks will be the "Universal Apostolic Preferences" (UAP) of the Society of Jesus. Novembers talk will focus on the Apostolic Preference, "Walk with the poor, the outcasts of the world, those whose dignity has been violated, in a mission of reconciliation and justice."
In March of this year, SLU and partner organization JWL launched a fully remote B.A. program for students living in East African refugee camps. Bass will share about how this program creates a global community of learners and fosters hope to create a more peaceful and humane world.
