Delegation of 17 from SLU Attend Hispanic Capitol Day

A delegation of 17 individuals from SLU attended Hispanic Capitol Day in Jefferson City on Tuesday, March 25, through the Center for Social Action.  

A total of over 200 people showed up to Jefferson City for Hispanic Capitol Day. The group met with legislators to discuss bills being proposed in Missouri. Prior to speaking with legislators, attendees were able to hear from the Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe.

Students came from various undergraduate schools, the School of Law and the School of Medicine took part in the event. The day was sponsored by the Hispanic Leaders Group of Saint Louis and the Missouri Immigration Policy Coalition. Partners from around the state included the Immigration Task Force of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis, Revolución Educativa in Kansas City, LiUNA! Local 110, The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and many more groups.
