Limited Submission Opportunity Available for 2026 Pew Scholars Program

Applicants are invited to apply for an institutional nomination to the 2026 Pew Scholars Program in the Biomedical Sciences.
An award of $75,000 per year for four years will be provided to the sponsoring institution for use by the scholar. Candidates must meet all of the following eligibility requirements:
- Hold a doctorate in biomedical sciences, medicine, or a related field, including engineering or the physical sciences.
- As of Sept. 3, 2025, run an independent lab and hold a full-time appointment at the rank of assistant professor. (Appointments such as research assistant professor, adjunct assistant professor, assistant professor research track, visiting professor, or instructor are not eligible).
- Must not have been appointed as an assistant professor and run an independent lab at any institution prior to June 11, 2021, whether or not such an appointment was on a tenure track.

Guidance for the Nomination Process
An internal competition will be held to assign the single slot. Interested applicants should submit pre-proposal materials (2-page project description and CV) through SLU’s OpenWater portal by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
A SLU faculty selection committee will review and select the most suitable applicant and notify all applicants of the outcome by Friday, May 23, 2025, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
SLU’s institutional nomination is due to Pew on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. The Pew online application portal will open on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, and the application deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025.
