Boeing Distinguished Guest Lecture Series Highlights Investment Opportunities in Greece

The Boeing Institute of International Business hosted its annual Boeing Distinguished Guest Lecture Series, featuring Emmanuel Koubarakis, Consul General of Greece in Chicago, on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025.
The event, titled "Unlocking Investment Opportunities in Greece," attracted a diverse audience of students, faculty, and business professionals eager to gain insights into Greece's evolving economic landscape.
Koubarakis delivered an lecture that explored Greece’s strategic position in the global market, recent economic reforms, and key sectors ripe for international investment. His presentation emphasized the country's growth in information & communication technology, food and agriculture, and tourism industries, offering valuable perspectives for potential investors and business leaders.
Following the lecture, the 125 attendees participated in a networking reception, fostering meaningful connections among members of the SLU and local Greek communities and enjoying local Greek cuisine from Amalia Culinary Arts.
"It was a privilege to take part in the Boeing Distinguished Guest Lecture Series and engage with such a dynamic audience,” Koubarakis said about his recent visits to SLU’s campus. “Greece offers a wealth of opportunities for international investment, and I was pleased to share insights on the country’s economic trajectory and key sectors for growth. The enthusiasm and thoughtful discussions throughout the evening were truly inspiring and I appreciate the warm hospitality of the SLU community."
Hadi Alhorr, Ph.D., director of the Boeing Institute of International Business, said SLU was thrilled to host Koubarakis.
