Open Source Team Launches New Project

The Open Source with SLU team aims to promote and sustain open-source practices across our campus. The group identifies software projects that could benefit from open-source development and help project teams enhance their work. Open Source is encouraging the SLU community to share their project details so it can help make the project better and more sustainable.

Open Source can help with projects involving research software, educational tools, web applications, data analysis tools and other software projects

By sharing project details, Open Source offers:

Expert evaluation of codebase and documentation
Actionable recommendations for improvement
Support in making the repository external-contributor-friendly
Increased project visibility within and beyond SLU
Access to a growing open-source community
Long-term sustainability planning
License selection guidance
