Kristi Richter M.S.W., LCSW, Named New Master of Social Work Program Director

The Saint Louis University College for Public Health and Social Justice announces the appointment of Kristi Richter, M.S.W., LCSW, as the new Master of Social Work Program Director.

Richter has been with the School of Social Work for almost 12 years as the Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment.

As admissions director, she has served as the primary contact for every prospective incoming M.S.W. student and holds an intimate knowledge of the faculty and staff, college-wide, as well as University-wide resources.

She has represented the School of Social Work at local, regional and national events and professional conferences. As a current member of the SSW Director’s Advisory Council and a new member of the CPHSJ Coordinating Committee, she will work with her colleagues to position the M.S.W. Program for future growth and success.

Prior to joining Saint Louis University, Richter worked in various roles of increasing importance at Covenant House in St. Louis, culminating at the title of Director of Advocacy and Communications. She also worked for the United Way of Greater St. Louis as an Information and Referral Associate/Community Liaison. At Saint Louis University, Kristi has also served as an adjunct professor, co-teaching M.S.W. Immersion Courses in Ghana, India and Ireland.

She earned her M.S.W. degree from Saint Louis University in 2004 and her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama in 1993. Kristi became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2004 and received her Clinical Licensing Supervision Certification in 2009.

In her role of admissions director, she remained engaged in the social work profession at large as a representative to the Missouri Coalition of Children’s Agencies, Missouri Healthcare for All, Missouri Coalition on Budget and Policy Priorities, and Missouri Association of Social Welfare from 1998 to 2009.  She also served as a board member in professional organizations: National Deans and Directors of Social Work Admissions (2013-2019), Community Service Public Relations Council (2004-2008), and the National Association of Social Workers (2004-2006).
